From 17 to 19 June, the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau (TCB) welcomed a representative of the International Sociological Association (ISA) for a site visit, as Thessaloniki is being considered as a potential host city for the ISA World Congress of Sociology 2031.
During the three-day programme, the ISA representative explored a selection of conference venues, hotels and supporting facilities while gaining valuable insight into Thessaloniki’s accessibility, hospitality services and overall meetings ecosystem. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to experience first-hand the city’s ability to host large-scale international conferences and scientific events.
Beyond the venue inspections, the representative of ISA discovered the authentic character of Thessaloniki through its vibrant atmosphere, rich cultural heritage and renowned gastronomy. The city’s unique combination of modern meeting facilities, historical landmarks and warm hospitality highlighted the distinctive experience it offers to international delegates.
The site visit also reflected the close collaboration between the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau and its local partners, demonstrating the destination’s commitment to providing tailored support and high-quality services throughout every stage of the event planning process.
