The sixth Empress Theophano Prize was awarded to Europa Nostra in recognition of its outstanding contribution to the preservation and promotion of Europe’s cultural heritage as a fundamental pillar of unity, identity and sustainable development of Europe for more than 60 years.
The prize was presented by H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Constantine An. Tassoulas, to Prof. Dr. Hermann Parzinger, Executive President of Europa Nostra, and Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović, Secretary General, on behalf of the organisation, during a moving ceremony held on 6 November at the iconic 2,000-year-old Rotunda of Thessaloniki.
Established in 2019, the @theophanofoundation honours individuals and organisations that build bridges among people and cultures, promoting dialogue, understanding, and cooperation.
