Dr. Periklis Chatzimisios serves as a Professor in the Department of Information and Electronic Systems Engineering at the International Hellenic University of Greece, as well as a Scientific Advisor for the companies Z-RED and Tec4Society. He has also been awarded the title of Research Professor by the University of New Mexico (USA). For over 20 years, he has participated as Chair and/or Member of the scientific and organizing committees of hundreds of international conferences. Dr. Chatzimisios holds or has held leadership roles in numerous scientific organizations and associations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the one6G Association.

Since 2020, he has been consistently included in Stanford University’s list of the top 2% most-cited researchers globally, as well as in numerous international and national researcher rankings recognizing outstanding academic contributions.

In addition to the IFIP Networking 2024 conference, Dr. Chatzimisios has successfully organized four major international scientific conferences in Thessaloniki (including IEEE CSCN 2022, GIIS 2018, IEEE 5G Summit 2018, ICT 2016), along with more than 50 scientific events, educational schools, and workshops attended by participants from around the world. In 2026, two more major scientific conferences are expected to be held in Thessaloniki, for which Dr. Chatzimisios will serve as Chair and lead organizer.
