Thessaloniki Ambassadors’ Awards is organized by Thessaloniki Convention Bureau with the main objective to identify the contribution and efforts of academics, entrepreneurs and key opinion leaders that give prominence to local Meetings Industry. Thessaloniki Ambassadors’ Awards is aiming to award people that contribute decisively and take the lead in attracting meetings and events to Thessaloniki. Also, reward those who inspired events that promote the city on an international level and showcase the best of its cultural, creative & contemporary identity.
Thessaloniki Ambassadors' Awards 2024
Thessaloniki celebrated its 2nd Ambassador Awards ceremony on Tue 1 April, 2025 at the premises of Grand Hotel Palace. In particular, the work of 7 distinguished ambassadors was recognized at the event curated and implemented by the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau.
The Academic Ambassadors were selected from the list compiled by Thessaloniki Convention Bureau, which includes all the conferences that took place in Thessaloniki from 1.1.2024 to 31.12.2024 and met in full the criteria set by ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) for the evaluation and ranking of cities and countries. Eligibility Criteria:
- Rotate between at least 3 countries/ territories,
- Attract at least 50 participants face-to-face,
- Be held with a certain frequency (annual, biennial, triennial).
The honors were decided by a 7-member committee which consists of tourism experts, journalists, and both the public and the private sectors.
